schedule

Before phase I can begin:

1. Client needs to identify (4) key frames from clients's animatic storyboard that will be used in creative design exploration.
2. Client needs to deliver adjusted script (or animatic). Specifically—define what parts of client animatic are still to be followed, and what new/replacement sequences will like—include timing when appropriate.
3. Client needs to deliver any audio/musical assets, final or placeholder, that the contractor is responsible to use in creating the animated sequences.
4. Contractor receives first Payment from Client.

Pre-production covers phase I & II
Production is phase III
Post-production is phase IV

phase I
creative design exploration

begin Mar 22
We will begin a preliminary storyboard for the video. Storyboards will be based on the preliminary storyboard Animatic provided by Client. Finalization of the storyboard occurs in Phase II.
• Initial creative design exploration establishes primary design elements, colors, words, graphic design style, animation style, and overall visual approach
• Initial presentation of up to two (2) initial design alternatives
• Each design alternative includes up to four (4) key video frames—as identified through client's initial animatic—presented as static images
DELIVER [8 visual development images total]
Mar 29
• Client selection of one (1) alternative for further exploration
• One (1) additional round of creative design exploration on selected alternative
DELIVER [One more visual development design]
Apr 5
• Final client design alternative selection is required
• Deliverable: Final creative design alternative presented as up to four (4) images
DELIVER [Final design]
Apr 12
phase II
storyboard
We will take the preliminary storyboard from Phase I and complete for all video key frames. Final storyboards serve as foundation for video production.
• Three (3) rounds of key frame depiction for video based on final approved script
• Includes specific time markers, key frame designs, visual alignment, and direction for full video production execution
round 1

DELIVER [Rough animatic – cut into a story reel via quicktime movie]
Apr 19
round 2
DELIVER [Working animatic – cut into a story reel via quicktime movie]
Apr 26

round 3
DELIVER [Final animatic – cut into a story reel via quicktime movie]
May 3

• Presentation of final design execution
• Client approval of final design execution required before animation begins
phase III
animation
We will take the approved design execution and begin motion graphic development (animations) for complete video deliverable. Animation follows a three (3) round review process similar to that defined for design execution.
• Use of hand-drawn frames and animations will be optimized to meet project timeline and budget requirements
DELIVER [Rough animated scenes – keyframe animation, no color, not fluid]
May 24
• Re-use of primary concepts communicated via hand-drawn frames will be used in conjunction with computer-aided frame animations
DELIVER [Clean up animated scenes, computer generated animation, in color, missing final touches]
Jun 21
• Animations, and line-art drawings with subtle graphic treatment supplement hand-drawn sequences

DELIVER [Completed hand drawn and/or computer generated scenes, and completed motion graphic backgrounds]
Jul 12

                              • Motion graphics, completed background animation

DELIVER [Final Animation, completed hand drawn and computer generated scenes]

phase IV
video production
We will take the approved, complete video animation sequence and render, compress, and ready final video deliverables. Video production follows a three (3) round review process similar to that defined for design execution.
• Length: Up to two (2) minutes
• Final deliverable: Complete, full QuickTime video files (.MOV)
